Residents from a local care home visited the Orchard Trust activity park and smallholding site. They tried out the park equipment and met some of the animals. It is fantastic to see a range of people using the activity park and getting so much out of it. We welcome anyone to come and visit the site and use the equipment, we just ask that you please call Phill or George on 01594 861359 to let them know you are coming.
Last week the Trust was delighted to host visitors from Thessalonika in Greece. The students and teachers were on a co-visit with the National Star College in Cheltenham with the purpose of seeing how people with learning disabilities were integrated into wider society in the UK. The visitors were able to experience how we carried this out at the Stowfield Day Services through community based activities.
A HUGE thank you to the helping hands team Two Rivers Housing who came and volunteered for the day at Orchard Trust Day Centre & Smallholding. The team helped out by weeding and planting up all the tubs, drilling drainage holes in all the barrel tubs, planting the hanging baskets with bedding plants, planting potatoes and feeding all the livestock and collecting the eggs.
Take a look at our newly completed activity park! We are really excited to see people enjoying the park and our smallholding site, we have already had our first thumbs up for the wheelchair accessible swing!
The Day services will be closed today due to the snowy conditions.
Work is well underway for the accessible park at our Stowfield site! Despite the cold and snowy conditions the groundwork has been finished and the first pieces of equipment have been installed.
